Stump mic caught India captain Virat Kohli using The Rock’s iconic WWE catchphrase
Virat Kohli was caught on his mic making a classic WWE catch to welcome back Bumrah.
Virat Kohli uttered an iconic catch from retired WWE hero The Rock when Jasprit Bumrah returned to the field following an injury.
Virat Kohli, India's Test captain, is a riot on the field, and even when he is without the bat, he is never out of action. The stump mic caught Kohli using an iconic catch from former WWE star The Rock during Day 3 of the first Test between India and South Africa in Centurion. After recovering from an injury, pacer Jasprit Bumrah was able to return to the field.
India didn't even notice the absence of pace spearhead Bumrah (2-16) due to injury, as Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur raced through the Proteas line-up to reclaim the lead.
In only his sixth over, Bumrah landed awkwardly on his right ankle after a follow-through, and he was forced to spend much of the second session in the dressing room for treatment.
He returned and took two of South Africa's wickets, as well as a stunning catch.
Indian captain Virat Kohli greeted the bowler in an unorthodox fashion, which was recorded on the stump mic. "Finally the Rockford return" Kohli was overheard saying, and the remark quickly went viral.
